Sex offenders

One of Crimestoppers' most high profile partnerships is working with the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre.

So far, nine of the UK's highest risk child sex offenders have been located thanks to the Most Wanted website.

"Recentely, we discovered an offender who was running an online peer-to-peer group, that was offering live child abuse by request. Before going in and raiding his house, we had to make sure that he couldn't quickly access technology that would enable him to deny all knowledge of his website.

"We eventually reached a stage where it was safe for us to arrest him. Not only did we arrest him, but we kept the website running posing as him, so we caught numerous more child sex offenders and rescued a number of children too."
