Board of Trustees
Our Trustee Directors are responsible for ensuring that we are well-managed and that we are operating to our best abilities. Chaired by Lord Ashcroft KCMG, they also monitor all of our activities, policies and budget, setting the long term strategy for the charity.
Advisory Board
The Advisory Board consists of Trustees, senior staff and 12 volunteers, each representing their region. It has a particular focus on the volunteer sector, identifying issues that require attention.
Our members of staff
Incredibly, we only have 79 members of paid staff across the UK. These members of staff are responsible for the smooth running of our national endeavours and are all deeply committed to preventing and solving crime. 28 of these staff are based at ‘The Bureau' – our 24/7 call handling centre. Our 26 members of staff based in Central Office in London look after community and youth projects, fundraising and organising national events. Central office personnel also manage national media relations and communications, finance and human resources, which includes looking after our extensive regional network of volunteers. Our 25 field staff are based across the UK and help volunteers with campaigns, events and the general running of our regional Crimestoppers operations.
Our regional structure
We have 12 regions in the UK, with local activity driven by 39 Volunteer Boards, who organise Crimestoppers campaigns and events in their local area, promoting Crimestoppers in such a way as to solve crimes that are of a local concern.
Our volunteers
We rely on our 400+ volunteers located across the UK. Each and every one is a vital link with the community and represents their communities in the fight against crime. They come with all kinds of expertise and experiences, which they use to contribute to their Regional Board. Without them, Crimestoppers simply could not continue to serve society.
