Coronation Street star William Roache supports Crimestoppers
Coronation Street star William Roache MBE has been supporting Crimestoppers in the North West for almost ten years. William worries about the number of people who are in difficult situations because members of their family are involved in crime. That's why he's such a keen supporter of Crimestoppers - to make sure such people know that they can call the charity to pass on information about crime completely anonymously. Working with schoolchildren
Throughout 2007 and continuing into 2008 we have been conducting presentations to publicise the role of Crimestoppers to schoolchildren, aged 11 to 16 years old. It has been a joint initiative with Stockport Crime Reduction Unit who provide a joint presentation on personal safety. To date, we've spoken to nearly 4,500 schoolchildren during their assemblies.

Our successes
Crimestoppers Greater Manchester has had some tremendous successes over the last year, including information we received leading to more that £500,000 worth of illegal drugs being seized in Greater Manchester.
