Who are Crimestoppers?

We are the only charity helping to find criminals and solve crime. Crimestoppers has an anonymous phone number – 0800 555 111 – that you can call to pass on information about crime. If you call this number, you won't have to give your name or any personal information. Phone calls to this phone number cannot be traced.

We ask you to tell us what you know and not who you are.

You can call the phone number - 0800 555 111 – 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Crimestoppers operates across the UK.

The phone number provides an invaluable community service, so that anybody who has information about criminal activity can pass it on, without fear of retribution. Many criminals exploit people's fear to avoid arrest. Crimestoppers' anonymous phone number allows people to pass on information about crime without living in fear of the consequences.

Every call is treated with absolute anonymity so that nobody will know the identity of the caller, except you, the caller. Rewards are also available and are paid without compromising a caller's anonymity.

The information you give us is passed onto the police. It's a simple & secure way of bringing criminals to justice, without anybody knowing who the information came from.

If you don't speak English or if English is not your first language, you can still call the Crimestoppers phone number:

  • Call 0800 555 111
  • Your call will be answered by someone who speaks English. You will need to tell them which language you speak
  • They will then ask you to hold while they call an interpreter. This may take a few minutes, but please do not hang up. You will hear a message in your language, asking you to wait until an interpreter is available
  • The interpreter will then come onto the line and ask you to tell them the information you want to pass on about crime. They will probably ask you a number of questions. This is to make sure we have all the information we need to investigate the crime or criminals you have told us about
