Press Statement - Operation Captura 2 appeals

[17 November 2008]

Crimestoppers can confirm Alan Gordon has been found in prison in Majorca for separate offences committed in Spain. This has come to light as a result of Operation Captura. He will now be brought to justice in the UK.

As a crime-fighting charity, Crimestoppers provides the ‘Most Wanted' section of its website to law enforcement to enable them to publicise individuals they are trying to gain information on.

Crimestoppers does not choose the individuals that feature on Most Wanted as it is not a law enforcement agency. In the case of Operation Captura 2, it is the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) that compiles the appeals on behalf of British law enforcement and then processes the European arrest warrants to bring the fugitives back to the UK to face justice. Gordon is wanted for supplying controlled drugs within areas of Scotland.
